"Franco said to Anita, ‘I want you in all of your wholesomeness. On this beach, Under this moon. Tonight. Your white dress reflects the surges of tide, your white dress hangs loosely about you, your white dress waves in the ocean breeze. Let me be your witness. Let me declare you.’"
"The old man walked toward the water, stumbling slightly over the rocky beach. His black coat accentuated his slumping shoulders. The sun hung weakly over the crisp mountains to the west, promising colors but not yet granting them. When he reached the lowest wet rocks left by the receding tide, he lowered himself. His fine coat settled into the tide pool beside him. And he just sat there. Somewhat happy. Somewhat sad. The years, over all, had been good."
"There on the beach, Felix offered up his love on a plate. Samantha said, “Oh! You are so sweet!” And that is where they spent the night. In the morning the tide washed away their memories."
Beach interrupted
A black-coated mother, pink pajama pants
toddler daughter in tow, pays no mind
passing the loving couple embracing
(it’s been half an hour now, a serious clench!)
not noticing the big-butted woman
in slick green tights, walking foofoo pup
two bench sitting old men,
watching waves and humans
see it all—the coming clouds, too
they watch the lovers leaving
the winds whipping waves
woman in green won’t be back
p.j. lady wraps her baby
warmly, tightly and it rains
like Hell was made of water.
